Last night was the annual balloon glow in Forest Park and we headed down to see the sights. Last year we missed out as 2006 had been a bit of a mess with both boys. This year was much better -- Drew was REALLY into it -- but Ben was a little scared when we got up close to the balloons as they were filling with helium.
Additional pictures are on our Flickr photoset, but there aren't all that many. The boys were running around too much to take any decent pictures.
Things to remember for next year:
1.) Get there and be set up by 5:30
2.) Bring the wagon so BOTH boys can ride in it on the way back to the car
3.) Bring a blanket for the boys AND chairs for Mom & Dad!
4.) Pack a picnic dinner with LOTS of treats, water, soda, beer & wine
5.) Bring flashlights
6.) Buy glowsticks at the dollar store instead of getting pestered to buy the $5 ones onsite
7.) Bring a soft ball or frisbee for the boys to play around with during the down time.
That being stated, we had a really good time and were thrilled to meet up with our friends, the Heards, and catch up while the kids played.
