Finally got around to uploading pictures from Lizzie's fun baby shower last Saturday. Those of you who didn't make it (Laura, Paula) missed a great time -- and an open bar!
The shower was held in the lower level of Pietro's Restaurant and Lizzie made a haul -- SO MANY CUTE BABY CLOTHES!!! Little girls clothes are THE BEST.
Isn't he a doll? I posted some pics that I took on my iPhone to a Flickr photo album here. More to follow soon along with pictures from Lizzie's shower.
After spending most of Saturday indoors we decided to pack up the buggers and Captain in the minivan for a trip to Soulard and the Pet Parade on Sunday. The Beggin' Pet Parade is the largest one in North America, go figure.
The sights of Soulard didn't disappoint; There were dogs everywhere dressed in crazy costumes (some of their owners as well) and Captain had a blast meeting new friends. The boys were ready for a party with silly string from the dollar store and paw print tattoos on their cheeks.
I wish I would have taken more *fun* photos of some of the decorated dogs however the memory card was full from Vegas and I was too lazy to unload them off.
Do we look cold? Yes? That's because it is FREEZING here! Raining again today as we get ready to take Brad back to the airport for his noon flight home. Really wish I was going with him -- I'm missing my little buggers tremendously.
One more day & night for me, though. Heading back to the World Market Center for meetings in various showrooms. This job could become really, really dangerous -- I found several sofas and chairs I want for our house in the Drexel Heritage showroom!
Since I'm not much of a gambler (outside of college basketball in March) and Brad had spent a majority of his morning at the quarter slots, we decided to spend our open afternoon at the Hoover Dam.
In the pouring rain.
Not smart on our part.
But we did have a really good time and it was an amazing site to see. We posted all the pictures here on Flickr.
More to come tomorrow from our fun on the strip tonight. (Just as soon as we dry out.)
Saturday was Grandpa Lu's 87th birthday (my dad's dad) and to celebrate my aunts rented an American Legion hall for an afternoon of drinking and Pokeno. EVERYONE was there (except for those in Florida -- you missed a great party!) along with tons of food and beer. Grandpa was beaming the entire time!
It was old school Pokeno at its best: four corners, cover all, and straight bingo. Prizes were some of the classics -- loaves of bread, giant chocolate bars, boxes of cherries and cubes of Pepsi. To truly appreciate, you have to know all of the Christmases that Grandpa entertained us with Pokeno games and prizes from my Grandma's pantry (thus all of the food prizes). I managed to win a game (and bring home a GIANT hershey bar for s'mores) but Lizzie was the big winner and went home with three prizes.
Can you believe this kid is 6? Where does the time go... 10 years from today he'll be getting his driver's license!
To celebrate the big birthday, we went to lunch at Incredible Pizza with Grannie Annie, Papa Fred & Aunt Lizzie and gorged ourselves on the all-you-can-eat buffet. A crazy fun place that can drain your bank account and we had a great time -- Drew & Brad won the Go Kart race!
This evening we celebrated again with Pop and Grandma in the man cave while we watched the Superbowl -- almost too much fun for one day as we've eaten more today than we have in a week.
