My baby bugger turned 4 years old today... he's not a baby anymore! (But he's still super cute.)
To celebrate, I took a vacation day and the entire family headed to Six Flags -- it was Ben's first time and I wanted to experience it. (I've never been with Drew as he and Brad have always gone while I'm at work. Cue the little tiny violins...)
Good thing we picked a day to visit when it was ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR DEGREES. Geez, it was hot!
The Scooby Doo Swamp was a big hit with Ben:
The Mystery Machine!
On top of Colossus:
We met some friends:
And rode a few roller coasters (no pictures... our new iPhone 4s were safely stored away in a locker for the coaster rides.)
Ben's big request was for a souvenir, specifically a SuperMan cape. We let him try for a chance to win one:
And look what he walked away with:
After enduring the heat of the day trudging across the theme park's black asphalt walkways, we headed home around 4 to celebrate Ben's birthday at home.
The birthday cake:
Blowing out the candles:
Celebrating with Granny Annie:
Ben was the recipient of lots of fun gifts:
(The bumblebee is a pillow pet that Drew picked out for him... and I was surprised by how much Ben loved it!)
His favorite was his new spark scooter which caused some fighting between the boys.
I think he had a really good birthday... I know I enjoyed it. It's crazy that he is four years old and will be heading to kindergarten in a little over a year. As much as I want him to be my baby forever, I love watching how much he's grown and what he can accomplish all by himself each day.
Happy Birthday, Benny Boo... cheers to another amazing year!
